| Badger Mining Corporation has been funding a scholarship program since 1986. Since then, the mining company has committed well over $365,000 for scholarships. Each year, Badger Mining offers four $5,000 scholarships for students pursuing studies in Engineering and/or Environmental Science. One scholarship is awarded in each of the areas in which Badger has production facilities. Area "A" includes Rosendale-Brandon, Markesan, and Ripon School Districts. Area "B" includes the Green Lake and Princeton School Districts. Area "C" includes Blair-Taylor and Black River Falls School Districts. Area “D” includes the Berlin School District. The scholarships are awarded to students intending to pursue a degree in Mining Engineering, other Engineering curriculums or Environmental Science with priority assigned to that sequence respectively. Badger Mining Corporation is pleased to announce the following recipients of this year’s $5000 scholarships. In Area A, the recipient is Matthew Fenske from the Markesan School District. Matthew is the son of Russell and Renae Fenske, Markesan and is entering into Environmental Science/Biology at the UW-Green Bay. In Area B, the recipient is Jacob McDonald from the Green Lake School District. Jacob is the son of Rodney and Lynn McDonald, Ripon and is entering into Electrical Engineering at UW-Platteville. In Area C, the recipient is Ellyn Jennings from the Blair-Taylor School District. Ellyn is the daughter of Brian and Jean Stenberg and the late Rob Jennings, Blair and is entering into Environmental Engineering at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. In Area D, the recipient is Max Koch of Berlin High School. Max is the son of John and Sue Koch, Berlin and is entering into Mechanical Engineering at UW-Madison. Badger Mining wishes these deserving students and the rest of the 2008 graduating class the best of luck in their future endeavors. |
