Badger Mining Corporation Awards Four $5000 Scholarships

Badger Mining Corporation has been funding a scholarship program since 1986.  Since then, the mining company has committed well over $385,000 for scholarships.  Each year, Badger Mining offers four $5,000 scholarships for students pursuing studies in Engineering and/or Environmental Science.  One scholarship is awarded in each of the areas in which Badger has production facilities.  Area "A" includes Rosendale-Brandon (Laconia), Markesan, and Ripon School Districts.  Area "B" includes the Green Lake and Princeton School Districts.  Area "C" includes Blair-Taylor and Black River Falls School Districts.  Area “D” includes the Berlin School District.  The scholarships are awarded to students intending to pursue a degree in Mining Engineering, other Engineering curriculums or Environmental Science with priority assigned to that sequence respectively.

Badger Mining Corporation is pleased to announce the following recipients of this year’s $5,000 scholarships .

In Area A, the recipient is Andrew Docter from the Markesan School District. Mathew is the son of Dennis and Wanda Docter of Markesan and is entering into Environmental Science/ Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay.

In Area B, the recipient is Kelly Helbach from the Green Lake School District. Kelly is the daughter of Mark and Morna Helbach of Green Lake and is entering into Spanish/Environmental Science at Grinnell College in Iowa.

In Area C, the recipient is Trevor Millis from the Black River Falls School District. Trevor is the son of Susan Hanson of Black River Falls and is entering into Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Platteville.

In Area D, the recipient is Trevor Fyler from the Berlin School District. Trevor is the son of Jammie and Deb Fyler of Berlin and is entering into Biology at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
