Awards
BMC was awarded a Safety Achievement Award in 2005 and 2007. This is awarded by the Industrial Minerals Association of North America (IMA-NA) and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). The Safety Achievement Award recognizes the best reportable injury rate for an individual IMA-NA member company. The award criteria evaluate a company’s safety performance at all of its U.S. facilities and non-U.S. mining sites in North America. “MSHA and IMA-NA strive to help the industry achieve its ultimate goal – sending safe and healthy miners home to their families, every shift, every day,” said Richard Stickler, acting assistant secretary of MSHA. “MSHA is happy to help IMA-NA recognize member companies who have compiled excellent safety records and who serve as examples for other companies.” |
