Bluebird Trail Starting in 2009, BMC incorporated a bluebird trail consisting of 93 songbird nest boxes. A total of 197 bluebirds, 85 tree swallows, and 37 house wrens fledged from our trail in 2009. The primary goals of the birding project are to increase the population of beneficial songbirds, promote youth and associate stewardship involvement, and to record data that can be used to help with the statewide songbird monitoring program. To date the BMC bluebird trail consists of 125 nest boxes that are monitored by 19 associates and youth. All BMC monitoring data is passed on to the Bluebird Restoration of Wisconsin to help with the statewide restoration program.
